Congratulations to our Rottnest Campus for winning an acknowledgement of their wonderful PALS project. We were granted $750 to use on a reconciliation project of our choice. We hired Lenny Thorne, an Indigenous artist, to visit the campus to assist with the design and painting of two wall murals. The students attended an education program on the Island called “Wadjemup Dreaming” as well as planting a Noongar Six Seasons garden with the Rottnest Island Authority Environmental and Education teams. During NAIDOC week, we researched about Indigenous art, culture, songs and Dreaming stories. All of our work was presented in a booklet and PowerPoint presentation. |
