Gardening club and zero food miles

The Gardening Club meets on Monday lunchtimes, 12.40 - 1.20pm

We will be planting out a range of herbs and vegetables to be used in the Canteen. As this food is grown at school, no transport costs are required hence the term- zero food miles.

All parent helpers are very welcome to come and join in the fun!

Congratulations to our Rottnest Campus for winning an acknowledgement of their wonderful PALS project.

We were granted $750 to use on a reconciliation project of our choice. We hired Lenny Thorne, an Indigenous artist, to visit the campus to assist with the design and painting of two wall murals. The students attended an education program on the Island called “Wadjemup Dreaming” as well as planting a Noongar Six Seasons garden with the Rottnest Island Authority Environmental and Education teams. During NAIDOC week, we researched about Indigenous art, culture, songs and Dreaming stories. All of our work was presented in a booklet and PowerPoint presentation.
