LIBRARY RESOURCE CENTRE
2007
WELCOME
The library resource centre is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings before school from 8.30 am. We also open at lunchtimes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday when children come to read and play games or to change their books.
We have a team of library monitors who are are an integral part of our lunchtime system and we couldn’t function quite so efficiently without them. They are rostered every lunchtime to perform such tasks as:
loaning out and returning materials
tidying bookshelves and games shelves
re-shelving returned books
assisting children with their searches
erecting and dismantling displays
As the Beaconsfield students become more proficient with their use of various research tools, and the laptops are set up in the library for easy access, the library is becoming a busier place at lunchtimes! We have a roster for those students who need to use our internet connection or who wish to use one of the CD Rom reference programmes.
We are always looking for a team of parent library helpers to assist us with shelving and the covering of our constant stream of new resources. The covering could be done at home. Please see Leanne Suriano on Tuesday afternoons, Wednesdays or Thursdays if you would like to help out.

During the middle of this year, the Year 6/7 class from Room 17, worked collaboratively to create 10 canvases to help brighten up the library. They worked on themes within the library such as Reference, Fairytales, Animals, The Arts, Fantasy, Geography... |
