CHOIR

2006

The Beacy Choir consists of students from years 5 to 7.  Twice a year amongst other performances, the Choir sings for the elderly parishioners at St Paul's on Hampton Road near the school.

More recently the Choir sang at St Paul’s for their own parents, grandparents, neighbours and family friends.  This excursion was instigated and organised by the parents themselves after the great success of the last month’s performance for the elderly parishioners.  The excursion was such a popular event that the parents and students who attended want to see it continued in future years.  Plans are now in place for this event to become an annual event.

Here are a few photos of one of the performances.

CHOIR WRAP-UP 2006

Parent feedback for Choir performances has been very positive.  One problem we faced was that every excursion fell on a Tuesday and some of the working parents were unable to accompany the choir and enjoy our time together.  Hopefully this will be amended in 2007 to allow more of our parents the opportunity to join us.  I would like to give a special thanks to the core group of parents who made themselves available in 2006.

In 2007 the Choir has 4 excursions marked on the calendar.  Two of these excursions are at St Paul’s with the elderly and will continue to be on Tuesdays, as that is the only day they meet.  The other St Paul’s excursion is for family, friends and community and can be scheduled on a different day.  Likewise, the Fremantle / Peel District Music Festival at North Lake Senior Campus can also be scheduled on any day.

Once again the Beacy Choir says thank you and we look forward to your support in 2007.  Here are a few photos from our excursion last week.  The students and elderly are sharing Christmas carol song sheets, handed out by Father Peter, who can be seen in the spectacles and long hair.
