BEACONSFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL
PERFORMING ARTS - MUSIC & DRAMA
STREET THEATRE
On Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th November, students from the ILC and Mainstream classes in Years 4 - 7 performed their Street Theatre acts to celebrate International Children’s Day.  Each group, which included students from both the Intensive Language Centre and mainstream classes, learned to work collaboratively within those groups.

They learned about the genre of street performance, audience interaction skills, voice projection, the elements of and reasons for exaggerated and individualised costuming and make-up and the need to be aware of your audience ‘in the round’. They then used their rhythm and juggling skills learned earlier in the year to plan and perform their act to be performed on the day.  Other groups built up their act around their own specific skills such as dancing or musical instruments.

The following photos demonstrate the end result of the Street Theatre Experience as it all came together.
The school community and classes from around the school came to watch the colourful performances outside under the shade of the trees.
