Task - How can I make bigger, longer lasting bubbles?

• Does the colour or shape of the wand have any affect on the bubbles?

• Does the composition of the mix have any affect on the bubbles?

• What does affect the size and length of time bubble lasts – wind conditions? age of mix? stirred or unstirred mix? blowing style? etc.

Children were given a choice of wand shapes and colours and choice of three mixes:

• water and dishwashing liquid
• water, dishwashing liquid and  glycerine
• commercial bubble mix

Some of the kids had never blown bubbles before (mainly the IEC children) and these just had a ball playing with bubbles, others during the experimentation involved, discovered a new game - bubble tennis – might this become a future Olympic Games event?
